Nigeria has deported 51 foreign nationals who were convicted and jailed for involvement in cyberterrorism and internet fraud.
Gatekeepers News reports that Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a statement, noted that it and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), coordinated the deportation.
Among those repatriated were 50 Chinese nationals and one Tunisian, bringing the total number of foreigners expelled since the exercise began on August 15 to 102.
EFCC disclosed that the deportees were part of 192 foreign nationals arrested in Lagos during a sting operation that targeted one of the largest foreign-run cybercrime syndicates in Nigeria.
The commission noted that further deportations are scheduled in the coming days.
