How Drug Addiction Nearly Took My Life— Odumodublvck

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has opened up about his past battle with drug addiction.

Gatekeepers News reports that speaking on the Tea With Tay podcast, Odumodublvck revealed how the experience almost cost him his life.

The rapper said his struggles began during his time as a mass communication student at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

He said, “I was a very bright student. I used to take drugs to read. One day, I took drugs and I almost died. I called my mummy to book me a flight. I haven’t told her this before, she’ll see it from this podcast.”

The rapper explained that he immediately returned to Abuja to rethink his choices. He recounted, “I told her to book flight for me because I needed to come back to Abuja. When I got to Abuja, I sat down in the garden, I was thanking God.”

According to him, even after that near-death scare, he briefly relapsed. He said, “I saw one of my longtime guys. He told me he had something for me and he showed me crack. I said this thing is a devil but I took it for the last time.”

Grateful for his recovery, Odumodublvck reflected on the fate of many who were not as lucky. He said, “It’s not easy. I’m grateful to God because there were some people that went into that life and they didn’t make it out alive.”

“Some have lost people to it, like they died, some people hang themselves because of this particular drug. They go to rehab and come back to it.”
