Edo State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has intensified preparations for the forthcoming local government by-elections.
Gatekeepers News reports that the state’s LG by-elections are scheduled for September 20, 2025, across the state’s 63 wards.
According to a statement signed by Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, the party’s state publicity secretary, said the sale and screening of aspirants commenced on September 2 and concluded on September 3.
The party also confirmed the constitution of an Appeal Committee to handle complaints arising from the screening exercise, ensuring adherence to due process.
Primaries for aspirants are slated to take place simultaneously across all 63 wards on September 4.
The final list of candidates, the APC noted, will be submitted to the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) on Friday, September 5, in strict compliance with party guidelines.
