Alcaraz Defeats Sinner – Wins US Open For Sixth Slam Title

Carlos Alcaraz beat Jannik Sinner on Sunday to win the 2025 US Open men’s singles title at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Gatekeepers News reports that the 22-year-old Spaniard won in four sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, to claim his second trophy in New York.

The match, played before a packed crowd on Sunday, marked the third straight Grand Slam final between the world’s top two players.

Alcaraz powered through the opening set 6-2. Sinner, unwilling to surrender, responded in style by taking the second set 6-3 to level matters.

Alcaraz rediscovered his edge, dominating the third set 6-1. The final stretch became a tense battle, but the Spaniard held firm to close out the contest 6-4, securing his second US Open crown and his sixth major title overall.

Alcaraz said after the match, “This victory means everything to me. To come back here, win again in New York, and reclaim the No. 1 ranking, it’s just unbelievable. I’ve worked so hard for this moment.”

“Every time I step on court, I want to show that nothing is impossible. Sinner is an incredible rival, and I know we will play many more finals like this. Today was my day, but our rivalry is only beginning.”

The result cements Alcaraz’s position at the top of men’s tennis, reclaiming the ATP world number one spot and stretching his head-to-head lead over Sinner to 10-5. He has now won seven of their last eight meetings.
