Shade Ladipo Apologises To Tiwa Savage Over Comments On Leaked S3x Tape

Media personality Shade Ladipo has publicly apologised to Tiwa Savage for criticising the singer when her s3x tape leaked in 2021.

Gatekeepers Newreports that in a video shared on Instagram on Tuesday, Ladipo admitted she was among those who condemned Savage at the time, blaming her for the incident.

“I was one of the people who blasted Tiwa Savage when that s3x tape came out. I’ll be honest. I blamed her,” Ladipo said.
“I was like, you know what? How can you be over 40? Cause we are mates, and you’re still messing around with people like this. In hindsight, I wonder why I was blaming her so hard for something that happened to her.”

She explained that listening to Savage’s newly released album, This One Is Personal, made her reflect on the singer’s vulnerability and struggles.

“I felt her pain. And I just want to say Tiwa I love you. I’m sorry,” she added.

In October 2021, a private video of Savage and her partner surfaced online after she revealed she was being blackmailed. The singer explained that her partner had mistakenly uploaded the clip on Snapchat before deleting it, but someone saved it and attempted to extort her.

The incident sparked widespread reactions across Nigeria and beyond. While many rallied in support of Savage, others criticised her at the time. Despite describing it as the lowest point in her career, the 45-year-old singer recently said she refused to give in to blackmail or abandon her music, instead turning to her craft as a coping mechanism.
