Department of State Services (DSS) has taken activist Omoyele Sowore, Meta and X to court over posts of the former allegedly defaming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Gatekeepers News reports that the suit, filed in Abuja, accuses Sowore of calling Tinubu a “criminal” in August.
Sowore faces five counts of defamation and incitement under the Cybercrimes Act 2024 and the Criminal Code. The charges were endorsed by the Director of Public Prosecutions, M. B. Abubakar.
The DSS said Meta and X ignored its requests to delete the posts and suspend Sowore’s accounts, prompting the case.
This is a developing story…
