US President Donald Trump and senior members of his administration will lead tributes on Sunday for Charlie Kirk at a memorial in Arizona, following the conservative activist’s killing last week.
Gatekeepers News reports that the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot in the neck on September 10 while speaking at a Utah university.
A 22-year-old suspect, Tyler James Robinson from Utah was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt, with prosecutors pursuing the death penalty.
Authorities said the attacker claimed to be motivated by hatred he believed Kirk incited through his rhetoric.
Other speakers at the 63,000-seat State Farm Stadium in Glendale will include Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and conservative commentator Tucker Carlson. Kirk’s widow, Erika, who is set to take over leadership of Turning Point USA, will also address attendees.
On Saturday, hundreds gathered outside the group’s Phoenix headquarters, laying flowers, flags, and balloons, while displaying photos of Kirk with the slogan “Faith, Family, Freedom.”
