Lagos Govt Names Street After Adekunle Gold

The Lagos State government has honored Afrobeats artist Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko by renaming a street in his hometown to “Adekunle Kosoko Street.”

Gatekeepers News reports that originally from Lagos Island, the singer took to Instagram to express his joy and gratitude, posting a photo of his family beside the newly unveiled street sign.

He added the caption, “Adekunle Kosoko Street. The city that raised me now carries my name. Thank you Lord for my many blessings.”

During the unveiling, his wife, singer Simi, and their daughter Deja joined him as he removed the covering cloth from the nameplate in an emotional moment shared on social media.

The honor is part of a larger celebration of Adekunle Gold’s musical achievements and influence in Nigeria’s cultural landscape.

The move also underscores Lagos State’s recognition of homegrown talents who have made significant contributions to entertainment and society.
