Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, senator representing Kogi Central, made her return to the Senate on Tuesday at about 11:42 a.m., marking the end of her six-month suspension.

Gatekeepers News reports that the lawmaker entered the chamber with a confident smile, walked to her seat, and greeted some of her colleagues warmly before settling in.

She was accompanied by a small group of supporters and activists, including Aisha Yesufu, who was seen in the gallery, though several of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s loyalists were denied entry.

Her return followed a court ruling that described her suspension as excessive. The Senate had recently reopened her office to facilitate her resumption, even after the National Assembly initially maintained that she remained suspended due to ongoing legal proceedings.

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s reinstatement comes amid continuing tension surrounding her previous allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Recall that she was suspended on March 6, 2025, an action that barred her from accessing her office and resulted in the withdrawal of her security personnel and allowances.
