Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has officially announced his defection from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC).

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement released on Tuesday, the former lawmaker said his decision was driven by his belief in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and reform agenda.

The senator described President Tinubu as a courageous and intellectually sound leader capable of transforming Nigeria’s economy and governance.

He said, “I have known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 1998. I know the man’s mind, his courage, and his conviction. He is not driven by applause, he is driven by results. And today, I can boldly say to you that he is on the right track.”

Ben Murray-Bruce praised Tinubu’s economic policies, saying the president views the economy as “a living organism that must be disciplined, deregulated, and allowed to breathe.”

The senator added that the current reforms, though difficult, are laying the foundation for sustainable national prosperity.

He said, “The painful reforms we face today are the very foundation of tomorrow’s prosperity. We are moving into a free-market economy, one that rewards hard work and innovation instead of dependency and distortion.”

Highlighting key achievements of the administration, Murray-Bruce pointed to improvements in national security, monetary stability, foreign policy, and infrastructure development.

He said, “Under this administration, the appointment of the National Security Adviser has redefined our national safety architecture. Insecurity is being quietly and systematically dismantled. The Central Bank, now professionally steered, is stabilizing the economy, rebuilding confidence, and restoring the dignity of the naira.”

The senator further commended the government’s infrastructural projects, describing them as “the arteries through which growth and opportunity now flow.”

While acknowledging that many Nigerians are still facing economic hardship, the senator maintained that such challenges are part of the nation’s rebirth through reform.

He declared, “That is why today, I am joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), not for politics, but for progress. Because I believe that Bola Tinubu’s leadership, guided by courage and intellect, will deliver the Nigeria we have all dreamed of.”

Murray-Bruce expressed confidence that by the end of Tinubu’s tenure, Nigeria would witness phenomenal growth, and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the president’s vision for national transformation.
