Ojulari Urges Co-Investment Strategies To De-Risk Africa’s Energy Infrastructure

The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Bayo Ojulari, has called for joint investment strategies between energy firms and institutions to de-risk Africa’s energy infrastructure and drive sustainable prosperity across the continent.

Gatekeepers News reports that according to an NNPC post on X, Ojulari made the call during a closed-door session of the Global Oil Club, a forum of leading international energy players, held at the ongoing Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2025).

“Africa’s energy future must be built on collaboration, innovation, and inclusion. NNPC Limited stands ready to co-create solutions that will deliver real impact,” Ojulari said.

He led a high-level delegation to the NNPC exhibition booth at ADIPEC 2025, reaffirming the company’s commitment to global partnerships, energy equity, and sustainable investment. He was received by Sophia Mbakwe, Executive Vice-President of Business Services, alongside other senior executives.

The company said the GCEO’s presence underscored NNPC’s strategic participation in one of the world’s most influential energy gatherings. It added that NNPC’s board chairman and members were also in attendance, demonstrating unified leadership and support for the firm’s global engagements.

Themed “Energy. Intelligence. Impact,” this year’s ADIPEC aligns with NNPC’s transformation into a commercially driven, globally competitive energy company.

Throughout Day 1, Ojulari held strategic meetings with international partners on gas infrastructure, decarbonisation, and upstream investments.

NNPC was also represented by Udy Ntia, Executive Vice-President of Upstream, who featured in a strategy session titled “Beyond the Barrel: The Future of Upstream Strategy.” Ntia reiterated the company’s readiness to co-invest in industry-wide solutions while boosting Nigeria’s oil and gas production in line with regional energy targets.

The NNPC said its participation at ADIPEC reflects its position as an energy anchor for Africa and its commitment to delivering intelligent energy solutions with lasting impact.
