Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled some key figures, including Nyesom Wike (FCT Minister), Samuel Anyanwu (suspended national secretary), and Ayo Fayose (former Ekiti Governor).

Gatekeepers News reports that also expelled were Umar Bature, Ajibade Kamarudeen, Mao Ohabunwa, Uwachukuwu, George Turner, Dan Orbih, Mohammed Abdulrahman, Austin Nwachukwu, and Abraham Amah.

During the party’s national convention held on Saturday in Ibadan, the motion to expel them was moved by Olabode George, a former national vice-chairman (South), and seconded by Samaila Buga, its Bauchi chairman. Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi, then put it to a voice vote.

The convention followed a legal battle: a Federal High Court in Abuja initially restrained the PDP from holding the November 15–16 convention, citing procedural irregularities.

However, an Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, presided over by Justice A. L. Akintola, cleared the PDP to proceed.   The court also directed INEC to monitor the event, affirming its commitment to transparency.
