JUST IN: FG Seeks Death Penalty For Nnamdi Kanu

Federal government has called on Federal High court of Abuja to sentence Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to death after his conviction on seven terrorism charges.

Gatekeepers News reports that on Thursday, Adegboyega Awomolo, senior advocate of Nigeria and lead counsel for the federal government, made the submission following the court’s ruling finding Kanu guilty on all counts.

Awomolo contended that Kanu’s broadcasts incited violent attacks that led to the deaths of security personnel and targeted public infrastructure in the south-east.
