Legendary American actor, director and filmmaker Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday afternoon
Gatekeepers News reports that according to law enforcement sources, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a medical aid call around 3:30 p.m. and discovered the couple’s bodies inside the residence with injuries consistent with knife wounds.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery‑Homicide Division has taken over the investigation, but police have not yet publicly confirmed a suspect or motive as the inquiry continues.
The couple’s daughter reportedly made the initial discovery and emergency call to first responders. Some reports indicate authorities are examining whether a family member is involved, although official details remain limited.
Rob Reiner first rose to fame in the 1970s as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on All in the Family before becoming an acclaimed filmmaker known for directing classics such as This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally… and A Few Good Men.
He co‑founded Castle Rock Entertainment and was a prominent voice in political activism. Michele Singer Reiner was also involved in creative and professional pursuits and had been married to Reiner since 1989.
