American music icon Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has joined the billionaire club at the age of 44, according to Forbes magazine.
Gatekeepers News reports that the publication disclosed this on Monday, noting that the global superstar is now one of only five musicians worldwide to attain billionaire status. She joins an elite list that includes her husband, rapper Jay-Z, as well as Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Rihanna.
Forbes attributed Beyoncé’s financial milestone to several highly profitable years driven largely by global tours, music sales and ownership of her catalogue. Her 2023 Renaissance World Tour grossed nearly $600 million, ranking among the highest-grossing tours in music history.
She followed the success with the release of her Grammy-winning country album, Cowboy Carter, in 2024, marking a significant shift in her musical direction. In 2025, Beyoncé staged the world’s highest-grossing tour of the year, further boosting her earnings.
According to Forbes, the singer earned an estimated $148 million in 2025 before taxes, making her the third highest-paid musician globally for the year. While the publication did not disclose her exact net worth, it said the bulk of her wealth is derived from music, global touring and control of her back catalogue.
Beyoncé also runs Parkwood Entertainment, the company that manages her career and creative projects. Although she has diversified into other ventures, including a hair care brand, a whiskey label and a clothing line, Forbes noted that music remains the foundation of her fortune.
The billionaire announcement adds to a growing list of career milestones for the singer. In December 2024, Beyoncé became the most certified female artist in the history of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), after surpassing 100 certified titles.
Her Diamond-certified songs include Halo and Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It), while albums such as I Am… Sasha Fierce and Dangerously in Love have earned seven-times Platinum status. Lemonade has been certified four-times Platinum, while Renaissance is double Platinum.
Beyoncé has also been named a co-chair of the 2026 Met Gala, scheduled for May 4 in New York. She will serve alongside tennis star Venus Williams and Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, with the event chaired by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
The 2026 gala will mark Beyoncé’s first appearance at the event in a decade, after previously serving as an honorary co-chair in 2013. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
