Abdallah Wali, a former senator and diplomat, has withdrawn from Peoples Democratic Party after more than 25 years of membership.

Gatekeepers News reports that his decision was conveyed in a resignation letter dated December 31, 2025.

The letter, addressed to PDP ward chairman of Sanyinna ward in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State, stated that his exit takes effect immediately.

In the letter, Wali said, “I am resigning from my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, including all organs of the PDP in which I am a member. This resignation takes immediate effect.”

Wali expressed appreciation to the party for giving him the platform to serve at different times and also thanked his supporters for their loyalty over the years, describing their backing as invaluable.

Copies of the resignation letter were also sent to the PDP leadership at the local government and state levels.

The former lawmaker did not indicate his next political step, and there has been no official reaction from the PDP leadership in Sokoto State.

His resignation adds to a growing list of senior party members who have recently exited the PDP amid internal disagreements and shifting political alignments ahead of future elections.

Recall that former Senator Gilbert Nnaji, also resigned from PDP a week ago, citing disappointment with the party’s direction and unfulfilled national expectations.
