Lagos State Police Command has launched a full investigation into allegations of s*xual abuse and murder linked to Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Ministry, following widespread claims circulating on social media.

Gatekeepers News reports that the decision comes amid rising public concern after a podcast, KaaTruths, released messages allegedly sent by an anonymous individual who claimed to have carried out criminal acts for the cleric.

The individual, who said he is hiding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, alleged that he committed murders on Okafor’s instructions and claimed he was still owed N7 million for a past “job.”

The person also claimed one of his associates is currently in prison over related offences and offered to assist authorities with evidence.

The allegations also connect with earlier claims made by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who accused Okafor of having knowledge surrounding the poisoning and death of her brother. She said she has evidence to support her allegation.

Confirming the development, the police spokesperson in Lagos, Abimbola Adebisi, said the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti to probe all the allegations.

The fresh investigation comes amid a series of public controversies involving Okafor. The pastor has been embroiled in a highly publicised dispute with Doris Ogala following claims of a long-term personal relationship, which resurfaced after news of his recent marriage went viral.

In response to the backlash at the time, Okafor initially dismissed the reactions as the devil’s anger over his marriage. He later made a public apology, admitting there had been a past relationship between him and the actress.

Separately, Okafor’s former wife, Bessem, recently alleged that she married him at 18 and left the marriage years later due to alleged persistent infidelity.

The cleric has since announced his decision to step away from ministerial duties throughout January to focus on his family.

Police authorities say the investigation is ongoing and have urged anyone with useful information to cooperate as efforts continue to establish the facts surrounding the allegations.
