NUPRC Schedules Pre-Bid Conference For 2025 Petroleum Licensing Round

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has announced a pre-bid conference to outline eligibility requirements and bidding procedures for the 2025 petroleum licensing round.

Gatekeepers Newreports that in a statement issued on Thursday, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, chief executive officer of the commission, said the conference will hold in Lagos on January 14.

“The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) is proud to announce the 2025 licensing round pre-bid conference scheduled for 9am Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Grand Ballroom, Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos,” the statement said.

According to the commission, the announcement follows an earlier notice published in local and foreign newspapers in compliance with the Petroleum Industry Act.

“The focus areas of the upcoming pre-bid conference include the implementation timetable, bid package preparation, eligibility terms, and the assessment and winners’ determination procedure,” the statement added.

The NUPRC urged interested stakeholders and members of the public to register for the conference through its dedicated online portal.

The commission had earlier announced, on December 1, the official commencement of the 2025 petroleum licensing round, which is expected to attract about $10 billion in new investments.

On December 9, the NUPRC also disclosed that the federal government reduced the signature bonus for the 2025 licensing round to between $3 million and $7 million.
