U.S. President Donald Trump has said he does not plan to grant a pardon to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently serving a prison sentence for prostitution-related crimes.

Gatekeepers Newreports that Combs, 56, was convicted in October 2025 on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution and is serving a 50-month prison sentence. He had formally asked Trump for clemency in a letter, but the president indicated he is not inclined to grant a pardon.

In an interview published Thursday with The New York Times, Trump confirmed receiving the pardon request from Combs but said he is not considering clemency for the hip-hop star.

The president also stated he does not plan to issue pardons to several other high-profile figures, including deposed Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, crypto tycoon Sam Bankman-Fried, and former Democratic senator Robert Menendez, all of whom are serving prison sentences for serious offenses.

Asked about potentially pardoning Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd in 2020, Trump said, “I haven’t been asked about it.”

Since taking office on January 20, 2025, Trump has issued more than 1,500 pardons, many to individuals involved in the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol attack, and other loyalists — but he has remained selective about extending clemency to other convicted figures.

With the pardon now ruled out, Combs is expected to serve the rest of his sentence, with a projected release date in May 2028 under current estimates
