Gatekeepers News reports that the president arrived from Europe, where he had earlier held discussions with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and President Emmanuel Macron of France during part of his end-of-year engagements.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which was launched by UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, serves as a global platform for conversations on sustainability and development. The event is scheduled to run from January 12 to January 18.

Tinubu touched down at about 1:30 pm local time at the presidential wing of Zayed International Airport, where he was received by Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE minister of state for foreign affairs, alongside Nigeria’s minister of foreign affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior officials.

The 2026 summit, themed “The Nexus Of Next: All Systems Go,” is expected to bring together world leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss sustainable development and future economic growth.

According to Bayo Onanuga, presidential spokesperson, Tinubu’s participation highlights Nigeria’s growing role in global sustainability discussions and further strengthens diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and the UAE.
