Borno ADC Chairman Considers Legal Action Against Top Party Member

The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Borno State, Alhaji Umar Bolori, on Monday threatened to take legal action against Kashim Imam, a top member of the party, urging him to refrain from actions capable of destabilising the party ahead of the 2027 elections in the state.

Gatekeepers News reports that the ADC Chairman accused Imam of sponsoring some members of the party to inaugurate a transition committee without the knowledge of the ADC state leadership.

Bolori made this known during a press conference held in Maiduguri , the Borno State Capital.

The ADC chairman, who described Imam’s actions as unbecoming of a leader within the party’s fold, said measures were already in top gear to address the situation in line with the party’s constitution and the laws of the land.

” The ADC in Borno will not tolerate actions that undermine its leadership or threaten its unity. As a party guided by rules and internal democracy, we are already considering legal actions against Alh. Kashim Imam if he does not desist from actions capable of destabilising the party.

” Someone ( referring to Kashim Imam ) cannot just jump into our party and take unilateral decisions on behalf of the general membership without due consultation with the leadership. The ADC is guided by rules and collective decision-making, and these must be respected at all times.” Bolori said.

The ADC Chairman added that ” the purported Innauguration of a transition and registration committees by the Kashim Imam group is null and void and has no binding effect on the ADC members in Borno State ”

He urged all party members to remain calm and continue to work assidoiusly towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
