Heirs Holdings Names Sola Yomi-Ajayi – Obinna Ufudo As Non-Executive Directors

Heirs Holdings has announced the appointment of Sola Yomi-Ajayi and Obinna Ufudo as non-executive directors of the African investment company.

Gatekeepers News reports that the appointments were disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday, in which the company said the new board members bring wide experience spanning finance, energy, governance, and international markets.

According to the statement, Yomi-Ajayi has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, regulatory engagement, governance, and enterprise risk management.

She previously served as an executive director of United Bank for Africa (UBA) and was CEO for UBA’s international business, as well as country CEO for UBA America.

She currently sits on the boards of UBA United Kingdom, the Business Council for International Understanding, and the OECD Blue Dot Network executive consultation group.

She previously served on the Sub-Saharan Africa advisory committee of the US Export-Import Bank and on the board of trustees of the Institute of International Banking in the United States.

Yomi-Ajayi holds a master’s degree in business administration from Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University.

She is a fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (UK) and a member of the Association of MBAs.” The firm also noted that she holds a corporate governance certificate from Wharton Business School and a leadership certificate from Harvard Business School.

On Ufudo, the company said he brings over three decades of leadership experience across banking, investment, energy, and corporate transformation, and had previously served as executive director and chief operating officer at Heirs Holdings.

He served as president and group CEO of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp), where he led a successful turnaround and executed the landmark acquisition of the Ughelli Power Plant.

Ufudo is the founder and chairman of Atiat Leasing Limited and co-founder and chairman of LoanBook Limited. According to the company, he holds advanced executive and postgraduate qualifications from Wharton School, the University of Reading, and IESE Business School, and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

Reacting to the appointments, Tony Elumelu, chairman of Heirs Holdings, said the experience and proven records of the new directors would further strengthen the company’s leadership position in pan-African proprietary investment.
