Nigerian TikTok content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has hinted that he may quit school, barely days after celebrating his admission to study law at a university in Lagos State.
Gatekeepers News reports that Peller made the comment in a voice note shared with his followers on Tuesday, where he complained that spending long hours in class was affecting his ability to earn money.
“Guys, I swear to God, I remember I said I am going to school… I am not going again. I am not going again,” he said.
Explaining his frustration, the influencer said he spent several hours in class without making any income.
“I just remember, I was inside class for four hours. I didn’t make any money. I will write, I will look, I will play, not making anything. God forbid. I am not doing that one again,” he added.
Peller also said he felt out of place among his classmates, claiming that he was much younger than most of them.
“When I enter the school, I notice that everyone is old; I am the only young blood there,” he said.
According to him, he may consider returning to school later in life.
“So I need to go old. Maybe when I’m 30 or 40 years old, I will go to school. Please cancel everything. I am tired,” he stated.
The comments mark a sharp contrast to his recent excitement over gaining admission into a law programme.
Only days earlier, Peller had shared a video announcing that he had secured admission to study law at a university in Lagos, although he did not disclose the name of the institution. In the video, he appeared to respond to critics who had often mocked his educational background.
“Everyone has been criticising me for not being educated, as if I’m the first person who didn’t attend university. Now, all of you should leave social media, because I’m in school,” he said.
“I’m now studying law. You can see it, right? You can’t mess with me anymore. I know the law,” he added.
The influencer has faced frequent criticism online over his grammar and educational background, with some social media users describing him as “uneducated.”
Earlier this month, Peller also said he planned to return to school partly to improve his spoken English.
He has remained in the public spotlight in recent weeks following controversy surrounding the visit of American streamer IShowSpeed to Nigeria.
