JUST IN: Malami Moves To Overturn Court’s Interim Forfeiture Order On EFCC-Seized Properties

Abubakar Malami, the former attorney-general of the federation (AGF), has approached the court to challenge the interim forfeiture order placed on some properties taken by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Gatekeepers News reports that the order was issued on January 6 by Emeka Nwite, a judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, who directed the interim forfeiture of 57 properties believed to be proceeds of illegal activities.

The assets were said to be connected to Malami and two of his sons, Abdulaziz Malami and Abiru Rahman Malami. The EFCC also claimed the properties have an estimated value of N213,234,120,000.
