Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has again made it clear that he will be running for president in the 2027 general election.

Gatekeepers News reports that Obi stated this while campaigning for African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate ahead of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) elections in Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Speaking to supporters during the campaign, Obi urged them to vote for his preferred candidate in AMAC, stressing that the election is important to his political plans.

“You see this coming election, support us in AMAC; it will help me. Your support in AMAC is critical to our journey. I am involved and contesting the coming election as number one. When I come back, you will see. I assure you,” he said.

Peter Obi also used the campaign outing to remind his supporters that the AMAC election is not just a local contest, but part of a wider political movement he is building ahead of 2027.

He encouraged them to stay committed, mobilise others to vote, and see the council poll as a major step in strengthening his chances for the presidency.
