African Democratic Congress (ADC)has rolled out a free online membership registration platform across Nigeria as part of its early preparations for 2027 general election.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC said the digital portal forms a key part of its ongoing nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise, which officially commenced last month in Abuja.
The party explained that the move is aimed at aligning its internal processes with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026, which mandates political parties to maintain verified digital membership registers.
According to the party, only members whose personal details are fully captured and authenticated on its official digital database will be allowed to participate in party primaries, either as voters or aspirants. While the new system allows online enrolment, the ADC said physical registration will continue simultaneously in all states to ensure broad participation, especially in rural areas with limited internet access.
The party said the platform, accessible via www.adcregistration.ng, was designed to remove barriers, simplify enrolment, and create a secure and transparent process for Nigerians who wish to join the party. It added that since the launch of its grassroots membership drive in February, there has been growing interest from citizens across the country and from Nigerians in the diaspora.
ADC also directed existing members who previously registered on its old platform to revalidate their details on the new portal to meet legal and regulatory requirements set by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Support groups and political associations were similarly encouraged to complete their registration through the platform to formalise their affiliation.
While reiterating its reservations about certain sections of Electoral Act 2026 and the current INEC timetable, the party said it remains committed to building a modern, inclusive, and citizen-focused political movement capable of delivering responsible leadership and national development.
The development follows the signing of the Electoral Act amendment bill into law by President Bola Tinubu on February 18, after its passage by the National Assembly. The amended law requires political parties to submit comprehensive digital membership registers to INEC at least 21 days before conducting primaries.
The register must contain detailed personal data of members, including names, gender, date of birth, residential address, state, local government area, ward, polling unit, national identity number, and photographs, in both electronic and printed formats.
