A UK health tribunal has removed a Nigerian dietitian from its professional register after she was found to have lied about her experience to secure a job with the National Health Service (NHS).
Gatekeepers News reports that the practitioner, Ifenyinwa Chizube Ndulue-Nonso, was sanctioned following a misconduct hearing by the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service in the UK.
The panel found that she had misrepresented her qualifications and level of expertise in order to gain employment with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
The tribunal ruled that she acted dishonestly by persistently exaggerating her professional competence, which ultimately led to her dismissal for gross misconduct.
Further findings revealed that she claimed proficiency in multiple specialist areas she was not qualified in, raising serious concerns about patient safety and professional integrity.
As a result of the misconduct, the regulatory body struck her name off the UK register of dietitians, effectively barring her from practising in the profession within the country.
