At least 13 people have been killed and 28 others abducted after suspected bandits attacked a wedding ceremony in Kaduna State.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred in Kahir village, located in Kagarko Local Government Area, where gunmen reportedly stormed the community during the celebration, opening fire on residents.
According to reports, the attackers carried out the assault in a coordinated manner, leaving several victims dead at the scene while abducting dozens of attendees and residents.
The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents linked to armed bandits operating across northern Nigeria, particularly in rural communities where security presence is limited. Kaduna State has remained one of the hotspots of such attacks, with frequent cases of killings and kidnappings for ransom.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident, while efforts are expected to be underway to rescue those abducted and restore calm in the affected community.
The development highlights ongoing security challenges in the region, as residents continue to face threats from armed groups despite government interventions.
