A Federal High Court in Abuja has barred a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Kabiru Turaki from accessing the party’s national secretariat.
Gatekeepers News reports that the ruling was delivered by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik in a suit filed by PDP members aligned with Nyesom Wike.
In the judgment, the court restrained the Turaki-led faction from entering or using the PDP national headquarters, as well as from holding meetings or carrying out any activities at the premises.
The court also directed security agencies, including the police and the Department of State Services (DSS), to provide protection for the Wike-backed faction to operate from the secretariat.
Justice Abdulmalik held that the national convention held by the Turaki faction in Ibadan in November 2025, which produced its leadership, was conducted in violation of existing court orders and is therefore null and void.
She ruled that all decisions and resolutions from the convention, including the suspension of some members, are unconstitutional and of no legal effect.
The judge also faulted the expulsion of Wike and his allies, describing it as a violation of court orders and due process.
The case stems from the ongoing leadership crisis within the PDP, which has seen rival factions laying claim to the party’s structure and national leadership following disputed conventions and court rulings.
The court further restrained the Turaki-led group from presenting themselves as representatives of the PDP in any capacity, while also directing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to recognise any address other than the one already on record for the party.
