Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 3, 2026 (Good Friday) and Monday, April 6, 2026 (Easter Monday) as public holidays to enable Christians across the country to observe the Easter festivities.
Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement was made on Wednesday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who conveyed the government’s best wishes to Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora on the joyous occasion.
In the statement, the minister urged citizens to reflect on the values associated with the Easter season, including selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love, and to uphold unity and peaceful coexistence.
