Tinubu Postpones Ogun Visit – Heads To Jos To Commiserate With Victims Of Plateau Attacks

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his scheduled trip to Ogun State where he was expected to inaugurate operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport and other projects.

Gatekeepers News reports that the president choose instead to travel to Jos in Plateau State on Thursday to console the government and residents affected by recent deadly attacks.

According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu’s decision reflects the administration’s concern over the security situation following gunmen attacks in parts of Jos that claimed several lives.

The president will meet with officials and families impacted by the violence before proceeding to Lagos to observe the Good Friday holiday.

Onanuga said that on Saturday, April 4, the President will still visit Ogun State to commission the cargo airport and inaugurate two commercial aircraft to boost export and import operations, as well as other federal infrastructure projects.

Tinubu’s shift in itinerary comes amid heightened tensions and renewed calls for improved security in Plateau State after the weekend attacks on communities in Jos North Local Government Area.
