Bandits Kill Policeman – Set Health Facility Ablaze In Katsina Attack

Suspected bandits have launched fresh attacks on communities in Katsina State, killing a police officer and destroying a health centre during the assault.

Gatekeepers News reports that the attackers stormed the affected communities, firing sporadically and causing residents to flee for safety. In the process, a policeman was killed while trying to repel the assault.

The gunmen also set a primary healthcare facility on fire, leaving the building badly damaged and disrupting access to medical services for residents in the area.

Security sources said the attack is part of a series of renewed banditry incidents in parts of the state, despite ongoing military operations aimed at curbing such violence.

Residents have reportedly expressed concern over the frequency of these attacks, calling on the government and security agencies to intensify efforts to secure vulnerable communities.

Authorities are yet to release full details of casualties or confirm if any arrests have been made, but security operations are said to be ongoing to track down the perpetrators.
