Be Bearers Of Light Of Hope – CAN Chairman Urges Christians At Easter.

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Borno State Chapter , Most Rev.Dr John Bogna Bakeni on Sunday urged chirstians to be bearers of light of hope in a world that is increasingly darkened by ungodly activities and practices.

Gatekeepers Newreports that Most Rev Bakeni, who doubles as the auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Diocese, Maiduguri, also admonish christians to be ambassadors of peace and reconciliation in their various communities.

Most Rev. Bakeni disclosed this in his 2026 Easter message delivered in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

According to Bakeni, the Easter offers opportunity for christians to ” put on the light of Christ, let us bring this light where ever we go, in our homes, churches, offices/ places of work, businesses and everywhere.

” We must be bearers of this light of Hope in a world and society that is darkened by evil and sin, violence and conflict, wars and blood bath.” Most Rev Bakeni said

The CAN Chairman added that christians must bring hope to the concrete existential realities of day-to- day life, stressing that ” Let us continue to be ambassadors of peace and reconciliation in our communities

He therefore call on the government and security agencies to step up their game and ensure the security of lives and properties.

” There is no doubt, this year’s Easter celebration comes amidst hash economic realities, rising insecurity and blood bath in different parts of the country, kidnapping and abduction have become the order of the day. I urge the government and all security agencies to rise up to the responsibility and duty of securing lives and property.” The Borno CAN Chairman said .
