Nigerian Army troops operating under Operation Hadin Kai have reportedly uncovered a suspected drone launch site believed to be used by terrorist groups in Borno State.
Gatekeepers News reports that the discovery was made during ongoing clearance operations in parts of the state as troops intensify efforts to dismantle insurgent networks and disrupt their attack capabilities.
The military operation is part of sustained offensives in the North-East, where Boko Haram and ISWAP factions have increasingly adopted drones for surveillance and attacks against security formations and civilian communities. In previous incidents, troops have had to track and destroy drone launch points after foiling aerial attacks on bases in the region.
Although full operational details of the newly discovered site were not immediately disclosed, security sources say such findings highlight the growing sophistication of insurgent tactics and the military’s continued push to neutralize their infrastructure.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations and clearance operations in the area to prevent further use of the location by terrorist elements.
The Nigerian military has maintained that its operations in Borno and surrounding areas remain focused on degrading terrorist capabilities and restoring stability across the North-East.
