President Bola Tinubu has congratulated business magnate Mike Adenuga on his 73rd birthday, describing him as a “colossus in the business landscape” and praising his contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement issued on Tuesday, Tinubu said Adenuga’s rise from humble beginnings to becoming one of Africa’s leading entrepreneurs reflects vision, resilience, and a strong belief in the Nigerian enterprise.
He noted that the Globacom and Conoil chairman has left what he called “an imprint of excellence” across key sectors of the economy.
“From telecommunications, real estate, banking, and oil and gas, he has put an imprint of excellence on the Nigerian enterprise,” the statement read.
The president also described Adenuga’s journey as an inspiration to younger generations, highlighting his entrepreneurial success as proof of what determination and innovation can achieve.
“I congratulate the Guru, a businessman with the Midas touch, on his birthday today, April 29,” Tinubu said.
“Mike’s life is an affirmation of the audacity of hope, belief, and vision. From humble beginnings, he rose to become one of Africa’s finest entrepreneurs.”
Tinubu added that Adenuga’s achievements demonstrate the vast potential within Nigeria’s economy and serve as motivation for young people.
“His achievements in business are a testament to the immense possibilities of the Nigerian enterprise and an inspiration to the younger generation that, through hard work, innovation, and resilience, they can rise to become standout men and women of their generation.”
The president further commended Adenuga’s contributions beyond business, particularly in arts, culture, sports, and entertainment. He said the billionaire has helped sustain cultural festivals and supported platforms that empower young creatives.
“I commend Mike for his consistent support for our arts, culture, sports, and entertainment sectors,” Tinubu said.
“With his support, culturally significant festivals across the country have been sustained, as well as entertainment events that unleash the creativity of Nigerian youths.
I also laud his many humanitarian endeavours across education and healthcare, and encourage him not to stop giving back to the people.”
