Chukwuma Soludo has forwarded a list of 18 commissioner-nominees to the Anambra State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, as he begins his second term in office.

Gatekeepers Newreports that Soludo was sworn in on March 17 for another term, following his victory in the November 2025 governorship election conducted across 5,718 polling units in the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Franklin Osankwa, special assistant on new media to the speaker of the house, said the governor submitted the first batch of nominees during plenary.

“The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze, received the first batch of commissioner-nominees from Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for confirmation during today’s plenary,” the statement read.

According to Osankwa, the speaker immediately referred the list to the house committee on screening and election matters for further legislative action.

The nominees and their proposed portfolios include Ben Chuks Odoemena (agriculture), Chukwukadibia Okoye (budget and economic planning), Udoji Amedu (culture, entertainment and tourism), Ekene Ogugua (education), Clem Aguiyi (environment), Izuchukwu Okafor (finance), Afam Obidike (health), Law Mefor (information and value reformation), and Tobechukwu Nweke (justice/attorney-general).

Others are Offornze Amucheazi (lands), Vin Ezeaka (local government and community affairs), Charles Ofoegbu (petroleum and mineral resources), Chijioke Ojukwu (physical planning and urban development), Casmir Agummadu (power), Okey Ezeobi (works and infrastructure), Eddy Ibuzo (transport), Esther Onyekesi (women affairs and social development), and Patrick Agha (youth development and sports).

Four of the nominees — Obidike, Mefor, Agha and Okafor — were reappointed, having served in Soludo’s first term.
