Arsenal came from behind to defeat Chelsea 2-1 in a thrilling Premier League London derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Gatekeepers News reports that Chelsea made a dream start when Morgan Rogers opened the scoring just 77 seconds into the match with a fine volley. Arsenal responded strongly, with Kai Havertz equalising in the 25th minute with a low finish against his former club.
Captain Martin Odegaard then completed Arsenal’s comeback five minutes after the restart. Havertz cleverly dummied Christos Tzolis’ cross, allowing Odegaard to finish into the top corner and put the hosts ahead.
Chelsea pushed for an equaliser and created several late opportunities, but Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya produced a crucial save to deny substitute Estevao and preserve the victory.
The result gave Arsenal their third consecutive league victory, maintaining their perfect start to the season. The Gunners moved level with Manchester City on nine points, while Chelsea remained on six points after suffering their first defeat of the campaign.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta described the performance as “exceptional”, praising his players for their reaction after conceding so early.
