National Identity Management Commission has launched two new digital customer support channels to improve accessibility and service delivery for Nigerians and legal residents seeking assistance with National Identification Number (NIN) related issues.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Commission announced the development in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Head of Corporate Communications Unit, Kayode Adegoke.
According to the statement, the initiative forms part of the ongoing reforms and digital transformation drive being implemented under the leadership of the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, Abisoye Coker-Odusote.
NIMC disclosed that it has introduced a Live Chat feature on its official website as well as an official WhatsApp support platform to provide users with faster and more convenient access to customer support services.
Members of the public can now access assistance through the Live Chat feature available on NIMC Official Website and the Commission’s official WhatsApp communication channel.
The Commission stated that the new platforms are designed to offer prompt responses to enquiries, real-time guidance, and improved customer interaction, while reducing the need for physical visits to enrolment centres and offices.
According to NIMC, the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which seeks to improve public sector efficiency and expand access to government services through technology-driven solutions.
The agency added that under Coker-Odusote’s leadership, it would continue implementing strategic reforms and digital innovations aimed at strengthening public trust, expanding access to identity management services, and improving service delivery for Nigerians and legal residents.
NIMC also urged citizens to make use of the official communication platforms for verified information, support, and updates regarding NIN services and other identity management matters.
The Commission further warned Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid unofficial channels in order to prevent misinformation and fraudulent activities.
