Bruno Fernandes reached a major Premier League assist milestone as Manchester United secured a 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Portuguese midfielder registered his 20th assist of the league season after setting up Bryan Mbeumo for United’s third goal, becoming only the third player in Premier League history to hit that mark in a single campaign after Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.

United took the lead in the fifth minute through Luke Shaw before Forest responded after the break with an equaliser from Morato. Matheus Cunha restored the home side’s advantage, although the goal sparked debate over a possible handball in the buildup that survived a VAR check.

Fernandes later delivered the assist for Mbeumo’s goal to put United 3-1 ahead before Morgan Gibbs-White reduced the deficit late on for Forest. Erik ten Hag’s side, however, held on to claim all three points.

The win strengthened Manchester United’s push for a top-four finish and Champions League qualification heading into the final stretch of the season.
