Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the price of petrol at its loading gantry to ₦1,250 per litre, down from ₦1,275 per litre.
Gatekeepers News reports that the new price took effect on Saturday and applies to petrol loaded directly from the refinery’s gantry by marketers and distributors for nationwide supply.
The adjustment is part of a fresh price review reflecting movements in global crude oil prices and ongoing changes in the downstream petroleum market.
The report notes that the reduction comes shortly after recent adjustments in petrol pricing by the refinery, as it continues to align its gantry rates with international crude benchmarks and domestic supply realities in Nigeria’s deregulated fuel sector.
It also highlights that the refinery has been actively adjusting prices in response to competition among fuel suppliers and shifting import parity levels.
The gantry price is the benchmark price paid by marketers lifting petrol directly from the refinery, meaning any change at this level often influences retail pump prices depending on distribution and logistics costs.
While the reduction does not automatically translate to lower pump prices nationwide, it could lead to downward adjustments in retail prices if marketers reflect the change in their pricing structure.
