The attackers were said to have made away with a G3 service rifle with ammunition, as well as a mobile phone, a generator set, and a motorcycle battery before escaping through the same route they used to enter.

The injured officers have since been taken for medical treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.

The police added that tactical teams, surveillance units, and intelligence operatives have been deployed to comb surrounding bushes and escape routes in a bid to track down the attackers and recover the stolen items.

Authorities also confirmed that a joint task force involving the police and the Nigeria Immigration Service has been set up to strengthen investigation and improve security around the facility.

Residents of Ogbomoso have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements as investigations continue into the attack.
