Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday harvested fresh vegetables from her home garden at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, renewing her call on Nigerians to embrace home gardening as a way to boost food security.
Gatekeepers News reports that the harvest, part of a routine visit to the vegetable garden established about two years ago under the Every Home A Garden initiative, included spinach, waterleaf and fluted pumpkin.
Following the harvest, the First Lady shared some of the fresh produce with members of her staff, while encouraging Nigerians to cultivate the habit of giving and showing compassion to others.
