Nigeria Ends Third-Party Visa Processing For US Applicants

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced that travellers in the United States seeking Nigerian visas must now submit their applications directly to Nigerian diplomatic missions.

Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement caome after NIS terminated the services of its third-party visa application provider, Online Integrated Solutions (OIS Services). The new directive takes immediate effect.

In a statement issued by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, applicants were instructed to lodge their visa applications at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington, D.C., or the Nigerian Consulates in New York and Atlanta until further notice.

The immigration service did not disclose the reason for ending its partnership with OIS Services, which previously handled visa application and submission centres across the US.

The NIS assured travellers that the embassy and consulates have put adequate measures in place to ensure seamless submission, processing and issuance of visas during the transition.

It also urged applicants to rely on official communication channels of the NIS and the Nigerian Mission in the United States for updates on visa application procedures.

The service reaffirmed its commitment to efficient service delivery, expressing appreciation to applicants for their understanding and cooperation as the new arrangement takes effect.
