Max Air Refunded N182m To 956 Passengers In Q2 2026— NCAA

Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) says Max Air refunded a total of N182.1 million to 956 passengers between April and June 2026, describing the development as a positive step while urging the airline to process outstanding refund requests more quickly.

Gatekeepers News reports that the aviation regulator disclosed this in a statement shared on its official X account on Tuesday, noting that the refunds were made during the second quarter of 2026. According to the NCAA, Max Air paid N182,099,018.88 to affected passengers whose refund claims were successfully processed.

While acknowledging the airline’s efforts, the NCAA stressed that passenger refund requests should be resolved more promptly in line with the provisions of Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023, which outlines consumer protection obligations for airlines.

The authority reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the rights of air travellers and ensuring that operators comply with consumer protection regulations. It also warned that airlines failing to meet their obligations risk regulatory sanctions.

The latest update comes months after NCAA identified Max Air among domestic carriers with high rates of flight delays and cancellations, as the regulator continues to intensify oversight of airline operations and passenger welfare.
