Grammy-winning Nigerian Afro-fusion star Burna Boy has been announced as the headline act for the opening day of the 2026 Reggae Land Festival in the United Kingdom.
Gatekeepers News reports that the award-winning singer will perform on July 31 at the Milton Keynes National Bowl, making his debut at one of the UK’s biggest reggae and dancehall festivals.
Festival organisers expanded the event to three days after tickets for the original August 1–2 schedule sold out in record time, prompting the addition of an opening day.
Burna Boy will headline the newly introduced first day of the festival, joining an impressive lineup featuring Vybz Kartel, Shenseea, Beenie Man, Shaggy, Morgan Heritage, Tarrus Riley, Masicka, Christopher Martin, and Julian Marley.
The announcement comes shortly after Burna Boy’s appearance at the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show.
The 11-minute performance, staged on Sunday at the New York New Jersey Stadium, also featured global music stars Justin Bieber, Madonna, and South Korean group BTS.
Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy rose to prominence with “Like to Party,” the lead single from his debut album L.I.F.E released in 2013.
Over the past decade, he has established himself as one of Africa’s most influential music stars, earning international acclaim for his distinctive Afro-fusion sound and a catalogue of chart-topping albums.
His discography includes L.I.F.E (2013), On a Spaceship (2015), Outside (2018), African Giant (2019), Twice As Tall (2020), Love, Damini (2022), I Told Them (2023), and No Sign of Weakness (2025).
Burna Boy also holds the record for the most Grammy Award nominations by a Nigerian artiste, with 13 nominations. He won his first Grammy in 2021, taking home the Best World Music Album award for Twice As Tall.
