Hajia Rukayyah Aledeh, mother and grandmother of the Aledeh family, has died.
The family announced her death in a statement signed by the eldest child of the deceased, Hon. Hud Aledeh on behalf of the family on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Gatekeepers News reports that the statement, which expressed the family’s submission to the will of Allah (SWT), called on friends, relatives and well-wishers to pray for the deceased and offer support to the bereaved family.
The Janazah prayer for Hajia Aledeh is scheduled to take place immediately after Zuhr Salah at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
The prayer will be held at Ibadurrahman Masjid, Lucky Igbinedion Way, Ikpoba Hill, Benin City.
The family appealed to members of the public to remember the deceased in their prayers, asking Allah to forgive her sins, overlook her shortcomings and grant her eternal rest.
The family also prayed for Allah’s mercy upon her soul, asking that her grave be illuminated and expanded and made “a garden from the gardens of Paradise”.
They further prayed that Allah grant her the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus and give the family the sabr, strength and fortitude to cope with the loss.
The family concluded the announcement with “Aamiin Ya Rabbal ’Alamin.”
Hajia Rukayyah Aledeh was the mother of Sulaiman Aledeh, veteral journalist, broadcaster and formerly Managing Director of Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).
