All Progressives Congress (APC) has completed the electronic upload of its candidates for all available elective positions ahead of the 2027 general election.

Gatekeepers News reports that APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, announced the development after the party successfully submitted its candidates through the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal before the original deadline. He described the achievement as evidence of the party’s organisational strength and preparedness for the elections.

The original deadline for political parties to complete the submission was Saturday, August 8, 2026. However, INEC subsequently extended the deadline by three days to Tuesday, August 11, following appeals from political parties seeking additional time to conclude the process.

Yilwatda said the APC did not wait until the final hours to complete the exercise, noting that the party had coordinated its structures, candidates and election management teams to ensure timely submission.

According to him, the process involved the nomination, documentation, verification and electronic submission of thousands of candidates across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The APC chairman said completing the exercise ahead of schedule would enable the party to concentrate on other preparations for the 2027 polls, including campaign coordination, candidate engagement, voter mobilisation, grassroots organisation, policy communication and reconciliation.

He also urged Nigerians to assess political parties not only by their campaign promises but by their organisational capacity, internal coordination, preparedness and ability to comply with electoral regulations.

Meanwhile, INEC said the extension of the submission deadline was granted to allow parties that had not completed the process to do so through its online portal.
