Sanwo-Olu Gives N40m To Two LASU Best Graduating Students

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has given N40 million to two best graduating students of Lagos State University (LASU) in recognition of their outstanding academic performances.

Gatekeepers News reports that Sanwo-Olu presented N20 million each to Ayilara Lawal Olawale and Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide during LASU’s combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremonies at the university’s main campus in Ojo, Lagos.

Olawale, a graduate of Project Management Technology, emerged the best graduating student for the 2024/2025 academic session with a CGPA of 4.96, while Oluolamide, of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, emerged best graduating student for the 2025/2026 session with a CGPA of 4.97.

Both students graduated with First Class Honours. The Governor’s cash gift was presented as a reward for their academic excellence and as an encouragement to other students to pursue excellence in their studies.

The combined convocation ceremonies saw thousands of students graduate from LASU across the two academic sessions, with hundreds achieving First Class Honours.

Sanwo-Olu has previously rewarded outstanding LASU graduates as part of his administration’s efforts to encourage academic excellence and recognise exceptional performance among students of the state-owned institution.

The Governor has also consistently highlighted education and human capital development as key priorities of his administration.
