Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.43 per cent in real terms in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Gatekeepers News reports that the latest figure represents an improvement from the 4.23 per cent recorded in Q2 2025 and the 3.89 per cent growth recorded in Q1 2026. 

NBS said the agriculture sector grew by 4.39 per cent, while the services sector expanded by 4.60 per cent. The industry sector recorded a 3.96 per cent growth during the quarter.

The services sector remained the largest contributor to real GDP, accounting for 56.62 per cent of total economic output in Q2 2026. 

The oil sector also recorded stronger growth, expanding by 7.31 per cent year-on-year. The non-oil sector grew by 4.31 per cent and accounted for 95.84 per cent of real GDP during the quarter. 

NBS said Nigeria’s GDP stood at N119.27 trillion in nominal terms, while real GDP was N53.47 trillion during the quarter.
