Sokoto Education Ministry Begins Mobilisation Rallt Ahead Of 2026/2027 Session

Sokoto State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) has embarked on a statewide mobilisation rally across the state metropolis ahead of the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.

Gatekeepers News reports that the rally is aimed at encouraging parents and guardians to ensure that their children return to school promptly as the long vacation draws to an end.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the exercise, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Professor Ahmad Ladan Ala, said the mobilisation was part of the Ministry’s efforts to sensitise parents and other stakeholders on the importance of timely resumption.

According to the Commissioner, the initiative is also designed to ensure a full turnout of students in schools across the state, thereby creating the right environment for the smooth commencement of first-term academic activities.

Professor Ala said the state government, through the Ministry, had made adequate preparations for the new academic session and put the necessary arrangements in place to ensure its successful take-off.

He therefore called on all stakeholders, including parents, teachers, school administrators and education managers, to be fully prepared to discharge their respective responsibilities effectively.

Also speaking, the Acting Chairman of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Sokoto State, Bello Abubakar, said principals across the state were fully prepared to receive students and commence academic activities as scheduled.

Abubakar, who is also the Principal of Sultan Bello Secondary School, Sokoto, commended Commissioner Professor Ahmad Ladan Ala for initiating the mobilisation rally, describing it as a timely intervention that would remind parents and guardians that the holiday had come to an end.

He urged parents and guardians to ensure that their children resumed school on the scheduled date, stressing that academic activities would commence immediately.

The Commissioner was accompanied during the rally by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Sanusi Aliyu Binji; Executive Chairman, State Teachers Service Board, Professor Mustafa Tukur Namakka; Executive Secretary, Arabic and Islamic Education Board, Ahmad Baba Altine; Executive Secretary, Agency for Mass Education, Dr. Nura Bello; Executive Director, Nomadic Education, Tambari Dikko Goshe; and other Directors and senior officials from the Ministry’s parastatals.
